That’s what we did! By the beach, covering a TV Commercial shoot. It was one of the few unique assignments we got.
We got up in the wee hours of the morning for the morning call. And this place was not behind our houses! It was quite a distance away. But no matter, our spirits were up and we were very excited to be part of this.
And of course, we were very excited to be able to meet in person, the world champion! She is a very easy going person.
None of those “I am famous therefore you shall worship the ground I walk on” attitude. Easy going, easy to chat with, gets on well with others and even had her lunch with the rest of the crew.
As you can expect, it was extremely hot and sunny at the beach.
Jason has his army hat and.. erm.. what do you call that thing anyway? Facecover?
That hat thing that covers almost the entire face.. as protection from the elements, in this case, the sun.
Fortunately we had ample supply of this, it was a Revive commercial anyway.
And there was enough shade being set up should anyone need to escape the sun for a while.
They too brought in mobile toilets. Not those portaloos you see on construction sites. These are full on toilets, complete with aircond!
Check out the rest of the photos! There’s lots of them.
Trying to stay out of the way of the crew.
Can you spot anyone familiar?
This needs a special mention. That thing you see next to Jason, that’s similar to one of those studio lights, except that it is used outdoors, when extra lighting is needed to compete with the afternoon sun!
Check out the lights in action. And.. oh look!! that’s me again trying to sneak in a shot and at the same time trying not to get in the way.
5 men are needed to move this thing around. That fella in green is so huge, I counted him twice!
And when it shines on you, trust me you can feel it’s “eyes” on you. Literally! The glare and the heat from this thing is intense!
The photo of Jason above is an example of the light in action, and it was shot right in the mid-day sun!
`
And time for some posing shots!
Those lights behind me are the Arri lights mentioned earlier on. They were so bright, they made this photo looked like it was taken at night, or.. almost night.
With some adjustments made.
Me with some props.
and finally….
See, so friendly.
